Bring a Book to Life

. . . .spark an imagination!

We continue our 3rd year of our “Bring a Book to Life” program in November 2016 at the James Fitzpatrick Auditorium at Kernersville Elementary School where we will recreate the magic of a classic children’s story. Remember when you believed with all of your heart that your beloved toys would hear all of your hopes, dreams, and fears, as if they were a real friend? KLT will once again “Bring a Book to Life” in this classic story of how the magic of love can make the impossible seem real.

About This Project

Live theatre can jumpstart the imagination, lengthen a child’s attention span and connect to the importance of reading. A play has the ability to jump a story off the page and bring it to life. This can be a revelation to regular bookworms, but also a real benefit to reluctant readers. Children often relate to “what’s happening on stage” which makes the stage very similar, in a way, to the play acting and role playing all children do. This November, the students at Kernersville Elementary School will attend a “live” theatre production of The Velveteen Rabbit. Donations and grants help support the cost of each child attending the production AND, as an added bonus, each student will receive their very own age appropriate copy of the book. . . “The Velveteen Rabbit.”

Donor Benefits

Receive a thank you letter from Kernersville Little Theatre and a warm and fuzzy feeling of knowing you made a difference in a child’s life AND a special thank you letter from a student. Any gift goes a long way and we can’t do it without your support!

  • $30 supports five student admissions
  • $50 buys 10 books
  • $100 supports eight students with a book and a show.
  • $300 supports ALL the books for one classroom

Help us “give a kid a book” and KLT will bring that book to life. . . we promise! We’ve only got a few weeks to meet our goal, so please share this email with friends and family. Please consider a gift to help us fund 850+ books for ALL the kids at Kernersville Elementary School.
