About the show:
Known as one of the best books in American children’s literature, Joseph Robinette, working with the advice of E.B. White, has created a play that captures this work in a thrilling theatrical presentation. All the enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig; Fern, who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the rat, who can be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman and Arables families; and most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Bring the family and invite your friends and neighbors to see this unforgettable tale of “Some Pig.”

About Our Director:
Diana first directed CHARLOTTE’S WEB over 24+ years ago when she was serving the Stokes County Arts Council as their Artistic Director, a position she held from 1985 until 1992. The young actor playing Wilbur dropped out of the cast the week before the show opened and Diana ended up performing the role of Wilbur the pig. However, Diana’s acting and directing career began long before she was “some pig”.
Diana fell in love with live stage performance while a student at Vienna Elementary School in Forsyth County. The entire school, along with students from other area schools, were bused to Reynolds Auditorium to see a touring production of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE. “I can remember sitting high up in the balcony at RJR and being mesmerized by the musical, not imagining that I would direct a production of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE at Reynolds Auditorium for the WS/FCS summer enrichment program in 2009.”
Diana earned a B.S.Ed. in Theatre Education at Western Carolina University and a M.Ed. in Theatre Education at the University of NC-Greensboro. She has been a theatre arts teacher with the WS/FCS since the fall of 1992. Diana has taught and directed students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade. Two of her favorite productions while working with WS/FCS have been PETER PAN, celebrating 50 years of the Summer Enrichment Program and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Diana currently teachers grades 9 through 12 for the WS/FCS.
Diana has directed for numerous productions for the community theatre groups in our area during the past 25+ years, including The Foothills Theatre in Elkin, the Brock Players in Davie County and the Surry County Arts Council at the Andy Griffith Playhouse in Mt. Airy. She is extremely excited to add Kernersville Little Theatre to that list and hopes CHARLOTTE’S WEB will be the first of many productions for KLT in the future.
Diana lives in Pfafftown with her husband, Phil and their canine pack. They have one child, Abbey, currently attending UNC-G studying theatre, history and classical studies-archeology. Diana loves to travel, read and direct. ๐
